About ComAp

The InteliDrive and InteliGen lines talk over CAN and J1939 straight to the engine management, so that speed, load, temperatures and fault codes come from the engine itself rather than from separate sensors. If that link drops out, a second line takes over.

Besides reading out, the controller does the real work: starting and stopping, sharing load, raising alarms and shutting down before damage occurs. Inputs and outputs are freely configurable, which lets the same unit suit a propulsion engine, an auxiliary set or an emergency set.

For shipping, ComAp supplies certified versions that the classification societies accept. That makes a used marine version valuable: it may stay where it is, and the installation does not have to be assessed again.
