A Furuno IF-1500AIS interface unit, supplied with its cable and the original operator’s manual.
Overview
The IF-1500AIS sits between an AIS transponder and the equipment that wants to read it. It takes the AIS data in and passes it on, which is what makes an older radar or plotter show targets it could not otherwise see. A small aluminium box that mounts out of the way and then does its work without attention.
Key features
- AIS interface unit, 12 to 24 V DC
- AIS IN and DATA OUT connections
- Compass safe distance 0.55 m standard, 0.35 m steering
