JRC JHS-182 Class A AIS — Complete Set, Tested

The JRC JHS-182 is a Class A AIS installation, sold here as a complete set with transponder, connecting box and NCM-779 controller, tested and updated by JRC.

Overview

The JHS-182 exchanges identity, position, course and speed between vessels and shore stations, and is the AIS installation carried by SOLAS and inland vessels for collision avoidance and traffic management. The set is built up from three units: the NTE-182 transponder with its VHF and GPS receivers, the connecting box that distributes power and the interfaces to the rest of the bridge, and the NCM-779 controller as the operator station. The controller has a 5.7″ FSTN LCD with backlight and a four-step dimmer, an IEC 61162-2 interface to the connecting box, a pilot plug connection and an RS-232C port for maintenance, and runs on 24 VDC. Target data can be shown on the controller itself or passed to a radar or ECDIS for overlay.

The JHS-182 is JRC’s Class A AIS installation for commercial vessels and was succeeded by the JHS-183. Units remain in service across deep sea and inland fleets, which makes a complete tested set a practical replacement or spare for an existing JRC installation.
